Early Tragedy

Tonight Mom, Andrew and I braved the possible threat of thundershowers and tornadoes and traveled one hour north of London to Stratford.

We arrived at the theatre an hour before the production of Titus was to start and decided to take a stroll along the Avon river. We hadn’t gotten far when the heavens spilled down upon us. Thankfully we were within a short sprint of the theatre’s covered entrance. Several rumblings and light flashes later we were seated inside.

The production was well worth the risk: well cast, well staged, and thoroughly enjoyable. My only criticism is that there was a decided lack of “fresh” blood in scenes where it would have been appropriate. Though understandable – both for safety and continuity reasons – I expected to see more “spatter”.

Damn you, twitter feed,
For raising expectation’s need.
