A-Viking He Will Go

Our Danish friend is moving back to Denmark before year’s end and she is being sent off in style with a big, weekend-long viking shindig down in Seattle. Andrew will be representing for both of us, as I am working Friday and attending a grant writing workshop on Saturday. We finished his viking attire tonight and I must say I am duly impressed.


Andrew found simple instructions on how to make a viking vest online. He bought 2.5 meters of 60″ wide fun fur and a piece of leather to cut into strips for armbands.

I donated a grey wool hat, made felt horns, sewed them to the hat, and edged them with shearling scraps to create his viking helmet.

I’m so pleased for Andrew, but I do have a mild case of viking-envy.
