Third Generation Pincushion:

This was my Grandma Vollick’s – yes, the very same grandma who ran away from home at age 16 without shoes. Ironic, no?

It is two inches high, by three and a half inches long, by five-eighths of an inch wide. The set of pearl-headed pins and needles are circa the cushion. Its plated finish is almost entirely worn away from being handled.  If I had to guess, I’d say the base metal was lead.

Which means I should probably stop licking it 😉
