Back In the Saddle

‘Twas a good day in the studio.

Almost six hours. Not optimum, mind you, but better than the going average as of late.

It helps when you stop worrying about making a wrong choice – which inevitably paralyzes any progress – and just forge ahead. There is a certain freedom in giving yourself permission to f@#% a piece up; the bonus being that sometimes you discover how to make the work stronger in the process.

The moral: it some cases it may be much quicker to re-do a piece that you feel you’ve gacked up than to sit around worrying how to perfectly finish a piece.
