It’s All About Me…
Except when it’s not.
Being a full-time narcissist is damn tiring, so tonight I’d like to make it about someone else for a change.
I’d like to shamelessly promote the doings of my good friend and peer, Sharon Kallis. She is presently Coal Harbour’s Artist in Residence. Check out these images of the community-based collaborative work she is facilitating using gathered, natural materials.
There are still a few free community workshops that the public can participate in. This Sunday November 16th, 1-4 pm Sharon will be hosting another seed tapestry tea party at Coal Harbour Community Centre (480 Broughton Street). Every one is welcome (yes, even boys). All materials – and tea – are provided. Do bring your own teacup, however. I missed the first one because I had my head stuck up my ass, but I will definitely be in attendance this Sunday.
Another date to mark on your cultural calendars: Tuesday December 9th, 7-9 pm will be a wrap-up celebration of the residency.
FYI – Not only is the work mighty fine, Sharon knows how to throw a damn good party 😉
Damn that work looks beautiful. Have a cup of tea for me!
