The Realms of the Unreal: The Mystery of Henry Darger by Jessica Yu.

A brilliant documentary about a fascinating, prolific, secretive writer/artist.

Wow.

Blown away.

Really.

Amazing work that really appeals to my sense of appropriation and collage (that and the fact that he put penises on little girls).

Can’t say any more than that without saying everything, except that the doc’s interpretive animation using Darger’s work is pretty damn sweet, too.

If you are on a tight budget, check to see if your local library has a copy to loan (VPL does). If not, it is definitely worth the price of a rental.
