Berry Blues

I’ve been testing blueberries out the last few days to see if they are something I can add to my “safe food” list.

For some reason it is always a surprise to me that blueberries are a pale, translucent, slightly mucous-y colour on the inside. I keep expecting that gorgeous deep indigo to be carried all the way through to the berry’s centre.

Does anyone else find this vaguely disappointing?
