Came upon this stashed in a studio drawer – and to think I almost forgot I possessed it…

This swish canape-making kit was found at Value Village about 10 years ago.

No date stamped on the tools or printed in the manual, but the bologna, cheese and bread ingredients suggest the 70s.

The 31 page manual even provides exquisite recipes and “interesting” garnish suggestions to elevate “even a simple bread and cheese canape” into “a special morsel”.

Surprisingly, I’ve never conducted a practical test to see how well the canape tools work. Maybe I’m afraid they won’t stand up to the hype of the manual.
