The Hardest Part of Art Is Letting Go

Purging is harder than I thought it would be. Emotionally, I mean.

I hit the Wall of Overwhelm at around 4:30 this afternoon. I realized that if I didn’t commit to getting rid of items I would just be moving them from my studio to the storage locker. Not much point in that, really.

I feel as though I am divorcing my old artist-self. There are strong emotions tied up in all of this “stuff” – I don’t want it anymore, yet at the same time I am afraid to let it go. Not very Zen of me, is it?

Regardless, I’ve made some hard decisions and I’m through two of my 5′ storage tables…about one sixth of the way through the studio 😉
