Campbell River Day 3 (Jan. 22)

My final day here.

Tomorrow the gallery opens its doors to the public.

In the next eight hours I’ve got to settle on placement of the final three plinths, finish lighting the show, finalize poses, stick title cards up, polish plexi, and take care of all the minute little details that I’ve forgotten about.  Good thing Gary is here again to help!

Everything falls into place in fairly short order.  It helps if you (meaning me) can commit to decisions 😉

It’s been a long three days, but I’m pleased with how the installation has come together.  It is always a thrill to see your name in vinyl letters on the wall of a gallery.  Makes one feel bona fide.

My experience working with the Campbell River and District Public Art Gallery was fabulous. The dedicated and professional crew of staff and volunteers made me feel at home immediately and their insight and suggestions during set-up were valuable and welcomed.  I feel very honoured to have their support.

To gallery curator Manon and her husband Michael: A special thank you for hosting me during my stay.

To gallery volunteers Richard and Gary: Your assistance was invaluable.  The show looks as good as it does because of you two.  Thank you.

The bar has been set high – I’m most definitely spoiled after the five star treatment!

Is it too much to hope that all galleries I have interaction with will be like this?

It looks stunning! You are an inspiration. Congratulations on another great show. I love the Gallery, too – even though it has been a few years since I last visited. Jody, may you have many successes.

    Hi, Jody:

Many, many congratulations on your show. I am so proud of you. It looks great and I do hope I can get over to the Island to see it in person.
